Short-term rental regulations

The City of Frisco requires STRs to register their properties to operate. There is a $300.00 annual fee for each property.

In addition to the registration, you are required to collect and remit Hotel-Motel-STR occupancy taxes monthly through the process provided by the Financial Services Department. Follow this link for the Report for Short Term Rental Occupancy Tax form.

Renewals

STR permits expire one year from the date of issuance and must be renewed on-time and renewal fee of $300.00 dollars to avoid fines. STR permits can be renewed up to 60 days prior to expiration.

Other contracts and rules 

It's also important to understand and abide by other contracts or rules that bind you, such as leases, condo board or co-op rules, HOA rules, or rules established by tenant organizations. Please read your lease agreement and check with your landlord if applicable.
